Introducing
Ocean Dreams
Featuring Machine Embroidery Applique & Quilting in the Hoop
Do you love exploring ways you can bring more of this beautiful world into your quilting?
Are you dreaming of beautiful blue oceans and creation coming to life right before your eyes?
Ocean Dreams is about all of us dreaming of a world where the oceans are clean, fish are free to swim, and we can enjoy their beauty. It's a reminder of the gorgeous underwater parts of the world - and our responsibility to keep it that way. These fish remind us of the magic of creation as well as our need to be both independent and connected with each other.
Featuring the fun and beautiful fish from the popular Yellow Submarine Block of the Month Quilt, Ocean Dreams allows you to have some of these fish in your home on a smaller scale.
Make your own aquarium or porthole window with the round Ocean Dreams quilt! It's a lot of fun thinking outside of the traditional blocks and squares of the quilting world and make something entirely different!
The circular quilt measures 27" across and features 4 small fish and 3 large fish, but you have a total of 24 small fish and 24 large fish to choose from!
The rectangular quilt measures 27" x 15" and also features 4 small fish and 3 large fish. This version makes an awesome table topper or wall hanging and can be expanded to make a queen size pillow (fits a 30" x 20" pillow form).
The fish are in school formation and you just know they're living their best life. The water moving around them is beautiful and reminds us that peace and chaos can coexist. The vast ocean is unpredictable and yet calm, somehow all at once.
Water washes away our fears and insecurities and never stops flowing - and that's something I want for you. A reminder. Don't be afraid to start something new. Don't doubt yourself. Just flow.
Combining machine embroidery applique and quilting in the hoop in several amazing projects, Ocean Dreams is a collection you want in your library, ready to grab at a moment's notice.
From the beautiful circular quilt to the rectangular one, there are so many things you can do with these designs beyond even what we are showing you here!
Transform Your Ocean Dreams into Gorgeous and Useful Baskets...
Ocean Dreams includes instructions on how to make the Continuous Fish Basket and the Paneled Fish Basket. The included quilting designs make a gorgeous base!
This is a great project to showcase your favorite fish designs and fabric plus it's so useful. These baskets stitch up quickly and are a lot of fun to make, you might just find yourself making a whole school of fish baskets!
You don't have to stop there, though. The full Bottomless Basket Pattern shows you how to turn any design collection into a basket with this - and it's included in Ocean Dreams.
Why "Bottomless"? Because the base isn't stitched in - making it a much easier make than a traditional basket. Plus the removable bases make beautiful plate chargers, wall décor, and more.
... Or Get REALLY Creative and Make Something Else Entirely!
The fish included with Ocean Dreams come in both stand alone applique designs as well as small and large hex blocks with quilting. The quilting designs will also work for many projects. It's a Design Collection that keeps giving!
We made these gorgeous wallets by combining the gorgeous quilting designs with MEL's Everyday Elegance Clutch & Wallet Collection... what will you make?

How precise Sarah’s instructions were! Made the learning experience so much easier. I couldn’t have picked a better person to learn from and I was totally in the dark about who she was and how good she was. And including a FB group to the mix... truly the best!

Meet Your Instructor
Since I was a young girl, I've had a love for sewing. That love transformed into a hobby, a passion, and then a career. Over a decade ago, I started designing my own quilts and offering those designs (as well as classes on how to use them) to quilters all over the world.
I discovered my super-power and purpose: to ignite the fire of creativity in the hearts and minds of people who are hungry to experience the transformative process of creating something beautiful themselves. Watching people of all skill-levels and walks of life grow their skillset and their confidence using my designs has been incredible.
I'm here to call out the creative being inside of you and show you what's possible. It's time to break out of the box and see the infinite possibilities waiting for you when you do.
I combine my PhD in Theoretical Computer Science and experience from years working as a Software Engineer with over a decade in business as a quilt designer to bring you stunning machine embroidery applique and quilting in the hoop designs, featured on innovative quilts.
- Not only have I taught quilting and machine embroidery applique to customers all over the world, I've taught Computer Science at the Masters level
- I'm an award winning quilter whose quilts have been displayed all over the world
- Even more gratifying than winning my own awards, hundreds of my students and customers have won Blue Ribbons, Best in Show, etc. with quilts they've created using my designs
- My big quilts start out as an engineering challenge which I then deconstruct to allow for (relatively!) easy construction in fabric and thread.
- I have thousands of happy customers and hundreds of hours teaching online.
- I'm really pretty handy with computers and software, and I LOVE to play in my digitizing and design software. I'd love for you to come play with me!
