With the Simply Dreaming Mystery Medallion Block of the Month Quilt so successful, I wanted to follow it up with a coordinating project. Something Simply Dreamers could work on while they work on their quilt, but also something others could enjoy independent of Simply Dreaming.
With these ideas in mind, the Simply Dreaming Tuffets were created. Featuring quilting in the hoop and a brand new piecing technique, this project brings all the fun and whimsy of the Simply Dreaming quilt on a smaller scale.
I chose to bring this project to life in the form of a tuffet because as I’m announcing it to you for the first time, the year is halfway over. We’re almost there - and most of us have had our share of trying times this year but we made it through.
I want to pause and reflect on the first half of the year. I want to recognize how far I’ve come. And I want you to do the same. What better way to do that than kicked back with your feet up on a beautiful tuffet?
So many have said yes to the challenge that the Simply Dreaming quilt brings, but I know there are others on the fence wondering if they can really pull off a project like that. Which is why I love the Simply Dreaming Tuffets - you can get a taste of how Simply Dreaming works, use some of the same shapes and designs, and see that you really can do it.
This is my very first embroidery project. I bought an embroidery machine but had no idea how to get started. This project has been wonderful. The instructions are well laid out and explained. This being a mystery quilt, I originally thought it would be one square per month. If I’d known how difficult and spectacular this quilt was going to look, I would never have attempted it! But wow, it’s come together beautifully. I couldn’t have found a better website and Facebook friends. You have given good advice and help along the way. Thank you to everyone. The Simply Dreaming Tuffets are completely quilted in the hoop and can be fully customized - from the height and leg style to the colours you use. You can choose to coordinate it with anything in your home or complete the tuffet using the same fabrics I chose. The finished tuffets have a diameter of 18 inches and are 7 inches tall not counting the legs you choose to add.
The tuffet is the perfect showpiece for any room and allows you to display and enjoy some of your favourite fabrics as well as the beautiful thread work in the design. Imagine how amazing it will feel when you finish one of these gorgeous tuffets and can sit back and admire your work!

Simply Dreaming 8 Panel Tuffet
This tuffet is based on the 7.5-inch blocks from the Simply Dreaming quilt. Requires a hoop that is at least 200mm x 200mm (8in x 8in).
Simply Dreaming 12 Panel Tuffet
This tuffet is based on the 5-inch blocks from the Simply Dreaming quilt. Requires a hoop that is at least 130mm x 180mm (5in x 7in).
As I’m going through this quilting process, I can’t believe how beautiful the quilting designs are! I would never have such a custom quilted look without learning this process! Yes it takes time and precision, but the results are spectacular! Thank you so much for this beautiful quilt! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
